Alexander Mirescu
Mr. Alexander Mirescu is founder, CEO and Chief consultant with RESILIÉNT/CITY. Since 2016, he has provided consulting services, risk assessment, action plans, policy implementation for disaster risk reduction, and resilience-based governance models. He also developed RES/MAP, a multi-indicator, qualitative methodology for resilience assessments, crafted DRR- based legislation, and resilience platforms for national and municipal governments. In addition, he implemented a successful project in West Africa, Mexico/Latin America, South Asia, and MENA region. Since 2019, he has been senior consultant in DRM and Private sector engagement in the World Bank where he identified and researched private sector contributions to risk reduction, national resilience platforms, urban seismic risk, and early warning systems in Europe/Central Asia, the Caribbean and West/East Africa. He is currently a policy Fellow in the Private Sector Engagement in the World Economic Forum since 2019, managing private sector-based resource mobilization and resilient investment for the multi-city “Healthy Cities and Communities” global platform. He has also performed needs assessments and gap identification for advancing Jersey City’s social resilience framework vis-à-vis the Coronavirus outbreak and implementing social resilience, pandemic response and public health projects focusing on sanitation and hygiene, food security and equitable access and physical well-being. He is also consultant in the private sector for UNDRR since 2019.
